I'm looking to buy a new lens, I'm using a sigma 50-500 and I would like to know if the Nikon 300mm AFS f/4 is a good lens for aviation photography. Does some of you using it?

Hi guys, I never gone to Lakenheath and I would like to test it next week (tuesday I think). Can someone tell me if their is a lot of activity on this airbase and at wich time they start and stop to fly? The carpark near the runway is a good spot?
