N82A Gulf 4 FAA says the change of this one into N189J has been authorized 12feb08. I don't know when it has or will come into effect, but it might be smart to cross-check weather it was still 1068 this day, in due time. On the other hand, if it's a new one, this would mean another G-IV has been re...

Two small examples of negative scans, made these last year. The negs were 27 years old and taken with a compact camera (but on 36x24mm film). Scanner used is the Konica Minolta DiMage Scan Elite 5400 II, which is roughly a match for the Coolscan 5000 series, depending on the features you look at. ht...

Not just a great topic but a good narrative too, EC. Personally, I don't see the 707 topic as exhausted but I just did not get to it anymore. No reason to put the 76 on hold though! We may have been nearly next to each other by the way, with that Moscow Aw take-off... 12feb95? 8) Elmer, 76766 flew w...

About weight: my bag used to be 12-13kg too, without laptop but including some 20 rolls of film 8) This will likely stay the same with a heavier DSLR and less film... Only problem I ever had was with Thomson, an airline I will never fly again for various reasons. My bag (Lowepro Photo Trekker AW II)...

Yep... Ik zie alleen nog heel vaak mensen wisselen op de 'makkelijke' manier, body op de rug leggen enz. Weet dus niet hoe algemeen dit bekend is.

Patrick, twee bodies is altijd handig.

Trollenmastertje, yep, all scans (Provia 100F). I was lazy though and just did some cropped scans at modest resolution. This resulted in roughly 2000px wide images, resized to 800 later on. After finishing, I saw I overdid it on the sharpening. It probably pays off to make somewhat bigger scans even...

Alex, negatives will do fine. The only structural differences I am aware of, are: - slide film has a broader dynamic range, mostly noticed in better shadow detail on positive film than on negative; - dust etc. will show up white on your scan of a negative (after inversion of course) and is therefore...
