I like how Erik's pictures capture the mood at East in the evening hours. A lot of the cargo flight were to bring "sperciebonen", green beans from the Nile delta to holland, also there were early flower fights from Kenia.

Anyway, here is a second batch from my side:

This last one is not so sharp but I hope the plane makes up for it. I never was a good record keeper so I do not have the precise dates to go with the pictures but this is al the eighties.

Thanks EC. I can hardly believe the variety of operators we collect here in a short amout of time. Had you asked me, I would have estimated to have seen roughly a dozen of 707 operators at AMS in the eighties. Yet, we are rapidly approaching the number of fourty. I've seen most of those while not coming more often to the airport than occasional visits after study.

Image
Two operators that I had even forgotten about in this context.
'Nice' Dutch weather on ET-ACQ on 12oct88 - who says the climate is changing?

Image
Roughly the same meteo for 5X-UAC, 28sep88.

Image
Evening departure on 29nov88 by another GAS Air smoker. Again, no colours of its own but Biman leftovers.
I had no idea she was going to crash-land with emtpy tanks two weeks later in Egypt...

Image
How is this for a moody evening at East? SU-DAA, 5X-DAR, ST-ALK and EL-ZGS (new id. of N707ZS) on 04oct88.

This is the best topic ever!!!
As a real 707 :freak: I have to contribute some pics to this topic I know, but I'm quiet busy at the moment with other things I'm affraid... Besides most of my collection are slides and pics that still need to be scanned (and most of them are even not PapaKnotty made!...) My own pics are more detail shots and cockpitviews and other Airports etc...
I'll will do my best to show you some later on... so hang on!
But please continue this guys..., please, please!

Then we start a DC8 topic (key  ), a Caravelle topic, a Il76 topic etc...can't wait! :D

But 707 first!

Okay, here just two pics...

14-11-1995 Took this one at East just when I arrived with this beauty from HECA (Cairo) on flight KJA204 (we picked up some beans...)
Remember the good old 5B-DAZ...

I like this idea for opening new treads after we finish the 707, can't wait for the IL76'ses

The 5B-DAZ can be remembered in many disguises, after being the SU-DAB with Zarkani and ST-AKR with Nile Safaris (both uploaded by Key) it turned into XT-BBF with Naganagani. Later it became this HB-IEI
Image

It was repainted and got Homac Aviation titles:
Image
I think after this it became the 5B-DAZ. It ended its live as 9G-ROX when it overan the runway after an engine exploded at take off in Bratislava.

Here are some others, first for the Belgian readers
Image

And the Brits
Image

This actually one of my earliest pictures

Image

Last of this batch is one of my favourites, sadly the sunny side was so obstructed with cargo I had to go for the backlight shot
Image

I am off on a spotting trip next week so I hope you guys keep up the good work and find some more for this subject.

Pappaknotty, any inflight shots for us in the future maybe? :P
Great stuff again EC, and I fall silent at the Lesotho one... with beautiful cloudscape. Actually, we were busy at the same time. I have another quartet in various light conditions.

Image
I came across G-BNGH as well, shot it on Freight 4 (now R) on 22jan89.

Image
An obscure one in murky weather: EL-JNS (stickered on) of Sky Air Cargo. Dodgy? Naaah... (17dec88)

Image
Another Freight 4 pic, TC-JCC on 21feb89.

Image
5A-DIX storming the skies on the evening of 10jan89.

Have a good trip, EC!

Don't have the Transavia one, hopefully someone else does!
Here you go with more TMA (the first one I added is OD-AGD btw).

Image
OD-AGX taking off from 24 on a foggy day, 22sep88.

Image
OD-AGS loading on Freight 4, 11dec89. No buildings on the spot yet, just the fence.

Image
OD-AFY gaining speed on 01L, streaming fuel from the vent valve (04oct89).

Erik

Edit: date correction for the middle pic.

Hmm, I think most I have seen at Schiphol (which is not nearly enough) have been posted here, but I am still missing Triangle Airline 5X-TRA. (First seen by me on 16-7-'95)
Someone? I'm afraid I cannot contribute here.

Edit: Oh, and don't forget African 9G-ADM.
Soon on 23-5-'93, my second spotting day ever. (Other ones for me that day were SU-DAC of ZAS and Gulf 3 VR-BMY)
Ah, allways nice to browse through a few first entry's in the database. A relief to find out that I have seen a few 'real' aircraft as well.

Gr.
Ard

PS. Excellent pictures everyone, keep 'em coming!

Don't know anything about this next one, the colors are Burlington but other then that?

I must explain I never worked at the airport, some of these shots are on the field though. In the past the marshallers could sometimes be pursuaded to take you out for a ride. Nowdays its hard to even make contact with the marshallers.

Hope you like em.
