Boeing 707's at Schiphol (oldies)

Boeing 707's at Schiphol (oldies)

With the winter and the long nights approaching it is time for some nostalgia. Schiphol was host to a fair number of (cargo) boeing 707's in the eighties.

I scanned some of my old photo negatives and thought to share them with you. This batch was shot between 1983 and 1987.

Please feel free to add you own pictures but please lets stick to the 707 in Schiphol under this subject.

Thank you for your encouragements, there are still plenty others to show, like the regulars from TAP, Tarom, Olympic, JAT, Aereolinas Argentinas, Kuwait, ATA, Zarkani, Korean cargo, Eagle air cargo, DAS/GAS and many more, so dig into the archives.

ADZ, hang in there and your time will come, we were always teased with Viscounts, Electra's and Convairs.

Our long-time customer 'Tango Lima' with their green monsters, this one in take-off on 09dec84.
When addressed as a cucumber, they replied with "It's a courgette". :!:

Schiphol East was the handling place for many cargo flights. Here we see Eagle Air Cargo TF-VLJ and Jet Cargo N707ZS on the evening of 16jun85.

Smokers outside Schiphol :lol: Next to the nice pictures i like the exotic names of the airlines. Most of them are just like those pictures, history.

EC already showed us a Ports of Call 707. N457PC left that company for Skyworld, rolling in on 06 here on 29sep87.

The Jet Cargo beast was stored at Schiphol for some time, nice opportunity to get personal with Maritza. (N707ZS 13apr88)

I remember having to change trains at Schiphol's round NS station, it was 09nov87.
I used the 20 minute layover to hurry up to the promenade deck and was rewarded with CS-TBT. ZAS and Skyworld in the background...

The 727s stayed longer, but Olympic did put 707s like SX-DBP on the line to AMS. Taking off from 01L (now 36C) on 22mar88.
