Thanks for the information. I intend to go there using public transportation, so can you please give more info about the shuttle from JR Ishioka station, like how much it costs and what hours it leaves for the airbase?

Public transportation to the Hyakuri O.H., from Tokyo area.

Time table of the JR Ueno(dep.)/JR Ishioka(Arr.);
0510/0628, 0604/0728, 0631/0757, 0651/0815, 0703/0834(*), 0737/0906, 0749/0932....
The trains will depart at platform No.9 or 10.
*This train will cut in two at JR Tsuchiura station and only a half part of the train goes to JR Ishioka.

One way ticket from Ueno to Ishioka costs 1.450JPY.
In some stations around Tokyo, you cannot buy the ticket which is exceed to 1300JPY by the vending machine.
Yes, you can adjust the fare at the JR Ishioka, but there will be a long long lines in front of the fare adjustment machine. So you had better to get the return ticket in advance(the day before 13 Sep.) at the JR's counter.

The shuttle bus will run from JR ishioka from 0630am and it will cost 800-1000JPY for one way.
It takes about 1 Hr. to the base. (When the Thunderbirds came to the Hyakuri in 2004, it took more than 6 Hrs.!!)

Transportation: By taxi 5min. from Tokushima airport. (about 1,200JPY)
By bus 30 min. from JR Tokushima station.(about 500JPY)
(Dep. time for the A.P. are 0610, 0805, 0940, 1105 and 1325.
Some other bus services are available).

JASDF-USAF joint exercise will be held at Hyakuri A.B.
Days: 2 Oct.-9 Oct.
Attendance: 5*F-15C/D from Kadena, 4*F-15J/D from 305sqn., 4*F-4EJkai from 302sqn.
Some USAF transportation a/cs will come to the base during the period.
