Kurdistan Counter Terrorism Units

The PUK or Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (Yekêtiy Nîstimaniy Kurdistan, affiliated to the Talabani family) Counter Terrorism Group (CTG)/Lexoman Parastin received at least one Eurocopter EC225 medium-lift helicopter in 2022.

Three AS350B3 helicopters are (or were) operated by Lexoman Parastin and SWAT forces from As Sulaymaniyah.

Arbat is used by multiple entities. In this picture a Kurdistan Regional Government Traffic Police EC120B colibri, an Ikarus C42A and an MTO Sport AutoGyro of the Lexoman Parastin can be seen.

In July 2023, the first images of Blackshape Prime fixed-wing ultralight aircraft surfaced. During a CTG/Lexoman Parastin parade they were displayed alongside the EC225 and AS350 helicopters operated by the unit.

The KDP/PDK (Kurdistan Democratic Party (Partiya Demokrat a Kurdistanê, affiliated to the Barzani family) E.A.H.K Counter Terrorism forces operate at least three EC135 helicopters.

The Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) - in Kurdish Encumena Asayîşa Herêma Kurdistanê (EAHK) has its own Counter Terrorism Unit - Aviation Unit operating an unspecified number of EC635 helicopters, of which some are fitted with the Paramount Group FLASH (Flexible Light Armaments System for Helicopters) upgrade. These helicopters were most probably provided by Jordan.

At least three Comco Ikarus C42A are used by the Kurdish forces and two are wearing civilian registrations. MSN's delivered to Iraq in 2006 by Comco Ikarus GmbH: 0509-6741, 0509-6742, 0509-6743, 0509-6744 and 0509-6746. Who operates them is unclear but it seems to be in a mixed civilian training and paramilitary (CTG/Lexoman Parastin) role.
