The defection of large quantities of aircraft from Iraq to Iran, yielded Su-22M-4K and Su-22UM-3K aircraft that were introduced in the service after the Su-25K and Su-25UBK were returned to Iraq during 2014.

Shiraz can be considered as the main operating base of the IRGCAF. The Su-25K (7) and Su-25UBK (3) of Fighter Squadron were all transferred back to the Iraqi Air Force in 2014. They were replaced by (ex-Iraqi...) Su-22M4 and Su-22UM-3K.
