Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

As you probably noted, images are reduced to a maximum of 750px wide right now. This is not to remain as such as far as I can have a say in it. Working on the situation!

Certainly do I agree on that, but not the current 750px. I find that much too small, and have requested a 1600px limit. This is mainly to keep pages from becoming unreadable. Many photographers want to have a fair amount of freedom in image size.

This has been solved by Ronald in a great way.
For screen resolutions up to 1024px, image sizes are limited to 750px wide.
For higher resolution screens, no limit applies. We will see if we need an extra limit to avoid unreadable pages in case a very large photo is posted.

For easier viewing, max 1024 is fine ;)

Not all viewers have 22" screens.

True, but many do have large monitors, often specifically to enjoy photos. We do not want to enforce smaller formats on these users where photographers are willing to provide more.
Simply put: screen size and photo size are both choices. They may match or they may not.

Having said that, sizes (far) above 1600px are not easily accomodated by the forum layout, that's why I suggested smaller sizes for photos now > 2000px wide.
Finally, we have 'responsive design' implemented here, meaning all images are limited to 750px wide for screens up to 1024px. Above that screen size, users get whatever size the images are (as stated two posts back in this topic).

I still notice images who are very large and do not fit on my 24" HD screen. ;-(
Also I do not understand there persons who use these large images (> 1920) to just "display" them.

BTW .. do I understand correctly that the 750px wide limit is only when you use to place the image at Scramble?

So do I, that's why the request to adapt those.

This limit only gets active for the viewer when browsing with a screen resolution of max. 1024px wide. Typically, it will only reduce photo display sizes on mobile devices, while retaining original sizes on the average desktop monitor (nowadays, in our part of the world, etc.).

Hope this helps,

Pity .. as I never use my browser full screen but I hope people understand there is no good reason to post these large images only to "view" to others :-)

1024pix is wide enough IMHO.
