Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).
Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.
me and my dad went 10 times to gilze-rijen but 9 times they didn't flew because of the weather... one time we got lucky but we were not the only one there.... then it was the time of who was the fastest across to the fence when the bells sounded...
Those were the days (i was 9 at the moment) i still have a piece of the t-shirt they sold at the opendays @ eindhoven that year i believe..
Those "UFO'S" (UGLY FLYING OBJECTS) are realy gonna be missed..
YOU DON'T NEED WHITE LENSES IF YOU GOT A WHITE CAMERA.
Yesterday, the F-117 was withdrawn from service. I thought it would be appropriate to dedicate a topic to this extraordinary aircraft. Of course I'm hoping to see lots of pictures from the deployment at Gilze-Rijen AB in 1993 (which I haven't scanned yet).
Here's a picture taken during its last European public appearance, RIAT 2007:
That was always the moment i put my camera in its bag and went for something to eat.
I always found it a uninteresting, overhyped (by the americans), overprotected, ugly airplane, and unlike the F-14 i`m kinda happy to see this thing go.

And I partly agree with him. I do have photos of it and kinda like a small number of angles of the plane (like BlueLife Frank's fourth pic), but to my eye too the F-117 has mostly ugly sides. For me personally, this has a lot to do with the lack of aerodynamics in this design.
Can remember seeing an empty parking spot with pilots shoes/helmet, yellow wheel blocks and of course the sign 'F-117 Stealth fighter' in front of it. Don't know which show or year it was, but it probably was in Belgium (KB?).
Strange birds in the sky! my contribution to this interesting topic with three pictures that I took at Gilze Rijen in 1993

A small contribution from my side: the arrival at Gilze Rijen
I never forget the face of the local police man and woman who were there to control the mob (2000+). Then the GCA antenna turned and the became clear that the F177's approached from the far side: a stampede of spotters and locals. Nice pics though and appologies for the dust spots.
