Re: Former Dutchies 'leaving' the fleet and their new ID.

Both Hellas Aviation Fokker 50's (ex PH-KVE/F) are still stored on a taxiway at Athens-Eleftherios Venizelos Airport (together with the two other F50's they acquired and a lot of former Olympic aircraft). As such, I saw them there on 05 and 10 November, 2009. Apparently, Hellas did not start up yet ...

Re: Strange Sabreliner.

Looks like the sostar x radar ...but it isn't, if you read the Lockheed press release quoted in the message above yours! It's the suite that carries the EOTS (Electro Optical targeting System) for the F-35 Lightning II. It comprises FLIR and IRST (Infra Red Search and Track) systems and makes up fo...

Hans,
You're obviously excused because of the distance... but what about the other SSB-regulars? Did the group meet the same fate as the base?

I would not go quite as far as that, but the result of this  attitude is F-16 jockeys intercepting an Airbus (or ANY airliner, for that matter) and "identifying" it as a "Boeing type"

Re: NSK2009 "were spotters battle each other"

Nice report, very nice event. It felt good to be back on the team and it felt even better to end third! One thing that struck me (and is obvious from the report as well): 19 years ago when the NSK started there were a lot of "young" spotters and a few "older" ones; this year it was the other way rou...

Referring of the move of Bo105 B-77: I can confirm that this actually happened. Around 10:30 lt I was on the A27 motorway heading south when I saw it passing in the opposite direction in the vicinity of Houten. Re: GREEK AF OPEN DAYS

6668 is preserved just behind the main gate of Larissa AB. Our group could not take photos of it (and the other aircraft preserved there). For some reason, the Greek AF DOES allow you to take pictures of operational aircraft, but -generally- NOT of the aircraft preserved near the gates (probably bec...
