Re: MCAS New River airshow 14/15 May 2011

Thank you for posting some additional tie-ups. It is most appreciated. Do you happen to have the serials of CH-53E UT-06 and the CH-53E coded 21 that was parked head on to the static display in front of the Ironhorse hangar?

Best regards,

Dinger.

MCAS New River 140511

Not a bad air show this one. Sadly, trying to photograph the flying display is pointless due to shooting into the sun for the most of the day. However, the static and flying displays were very good indeed. Here are a selection of shots from the day. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm176/dinger197...

Havelock - North Carolina

My second installment from my recent States trip. These were taken in Havelock the evening prior to the MCAS New River Airshow. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm176/dinger1976/Havelock%20May%202011/RF-4B157342HavelockTouristCenter1.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm176/dinger1976/Havelock...

Carolinas Aviation Museum - May 2011

Hopefully this will be the first of many posts documenting my 10 day states trip back in May. This selection is from the Carolinas Aviation Museum located at Charlotte Airport, North Carolina. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm176/dinger1976/Carolinas%20Aviation%20Museum%202011/YF-102A53-1788Caro...

XV249 Downwind to land

Thought I would try something a bit different whilst I had the the chance today. Popping down between Branston and Heington gives a good view of heavies coming downwind before turning onto the 20 approach at Waddington. Here are two of my attempts. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm176/dinger1976...

There were around 12-15 A-10s in two rows. Some were under sun sheds as well.

Maryland ANG C-27J

On passing Glenn L Martin State Airport I was fortunate enough to see one of the newest additions to the ANG inventory, the C-27J. Whilst there a based C-130J departed in great light as well. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm176/dinger1976/C-27J09-7016GlennLMartinStateAirport.jpg http://i296.pho...

Re: Oceana 16-05-11

Thanks for the info. I take it that photo 3 was a straight in landing, while photos 1 + 2 were doing circuits and turning short finals ? And did you set ourself up at the treeline / sideroad, where you can just see the aircraft line up / touch down ? Cheers, Iwan Most of the jets perform a fighter ...

Re: Oceana 16-05-11

Hi Dinger, Nice shots ! Which of these three were taken from the outside of the base ? And did you encounter any problems taking photos from the outside ? I'm asking because I'm considering to visit Oceana from the outside myself soon. Cheers, Iwan All 3 shots were taken from outside. No hassle fro...

Oceana 16-05-11

Spent an incredible day at NAS Oceana on Monday. The morning was spent on the outside shooting the approach to 23R and the afternoon was spent on a ramp tour from 1300 till 1700. I think I came away with over 500 images that will take me a fair bit of time to edit. Here are 3 for now from the mornin...

41 Sqn 95th jet in the sun

Caught departing Coningsby during a break in the clouds was 41 Sqns 95th Anniversary jet. Well worth waiting in the cold 20 knot winds for.

Hornet 21 @ Mildenhall

The highlight of a decent day at Mildenhall had to be Hornet 21 going out on a test flight. After 2 false starts, he finally went on his third engine start up and came in for a perfect approach on runway 11. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm176/dinger1976/CV-22B08-0037RAFMildenhall1.jpg http://i...
