Roderick, have been to ORTambo, Rand and Lanseria quite a few times the last 6 years or so. Never felt uneasy. Being just by myself I always rent a car, but never felt the need to use it as an escape car:-) The various spots on the Scramble site are pretty much ok and do not represent a safety hazar...

Have no info on Chennai or Bengaluru. Delhi: arrived there during day time last year on Go Air, which didn't get parked at a gate. Plenty of biz to be spotted from the aircraft as we taxied in and during disembarkation / bus ride. Not sure about hotels, though GE should be a good starting point. Mum...

Chris, ref the F16 and L39 on Friday, I noted 10320 (87402 tail) for the F-16B and 41122 (365424 tail) for the L39ZA on Saturday during the open house. (need to find some time to work out rest of 'report').
