In the past (like F-5E 527th Alconbury) the aircraft used to mimic Russian planes as much as possible. But the world is less simple than it was back then. Maybe these days the number of opponents is much greater so they want more diversity in schemes.

How is photography from the "spottersbult"? On the TV news I saw how crowded it was and specially all the people with the big stepladders. Can you still get some decent shots if you don't bring all the equipment from a window-washer-company? Or is the view blocked by all those that do?

According to the info on the special FF website of the RNLAF, the British and Germans will be in the exercise but from their own airbases rather than from leeuwarden. You are referring to an outdated infographic, all aircraft will operate from Leeuwarden except E3 Awacs and tanker support Duitsers ...

Agree with you. Justin Brink has very well founded arguments on the subject. Of course instinctively you want to rush in and provide support. But it may backfire and have the opposite effect.
