Re: Su-24 shot down near Syrian/Turkish border

According to Twitter @CombatAir: Syrian opposition sources identify downed Russian Air Force Su-24M as c/n 0715323 from the 6980th Guards Air Base at Shagol-Chelyabinsk. Well, then here it is, 0715323: https://pp.vk.me/c617126/v617126592/1596a/ItZlhvfQR7w.jpg :( https://pp.vk.me/c543104/v543104086/...

Re: Su-24 shot down near Syrian/Turkish border

Regardless whether they were on our side or not, I feel sorry for the pilots and their families. Especially if they were shot after ejecting. Shooting defenseless pilots while hanging from their chutes is barbarian.... I agree. But German pilots shot chutes during WWII, as well as american ones did...

Re: Su-24 shot down near Syrian/Turkish border

We've all heard the "rumours" that Turkey buys oil from IS. Now imagine the "peculiar flavour", if it turns out that the Su-24 happened to be involved in bombing IS' oilwells  It is not rumours. Former agencies agents stated these facts on TV, after what happened in Paris... IS sells 3 mil...

Re: plane crashed in Syria !?!

Dutch media is hinting that the Su-24 was approaching Turkish airspace. I wonder how legitimate it is to down an aircraft that is only approaching your airspace, but not actually enters it... even if warned. Erwin Radar footage from the Turkish MoD shows the Su-24 circling twice or 3 times over tur...

Re: plane crashed in Syria !?!

Although looking similar, it might, indeed, be a MiG-23. Look at this video footage (below). The profile shows the caracteritic massive tail of a MiG. The above (or below view) shows 2 details : - the empty space under the rudder, that does not exist on a Su-24. - the opened wing angle. If it was a ...
