Re: Grounding A-10s will save $4.2 billion, decision ‘clear’

As the bean-counters have taken over every other aspect of life, the universe and everything, it had to be a question of economics. Israel Air Force A-4s

For about 20 years some two dozen time expired IAF A-4s have been in use as targets on bombing ranges. Google Earth has recently make it possible to go see some of these, and this year it was the turn of range number 80 in the Ramon Crater where the following can still be found. http://i1294.photobu...

Re: Schelswig-Jagel: Nato Tiger Meet 16-28 June 2014

Guys, Some of us have made the annual Tiger pilgrimage since, well, for a long time. If you need to ask where´s any sort of list you really ought to be at home playing photoshop and leave fenceline space to those of us who can read Scramble/BAR/WLAG for the last 40 years. If you don´t go, you won´t ...

No mention anywhere(unless I miss something in the Dutch translation) of the signals from 300 mobile phones & laptops or other devices of mass storage that were either in use or inert when whatever happened, happened. Whatever it was must have been pretty quick, explosive decompression for example, ...

Re: EHLW Frisian Flag 2014 participants - chit chat

So, we´ve been moved to the tattle lounge, fame at last! Too many F-16s? They may be boring but, look what´s coming next, the Joint European Air Wing with UAVs on 36 hour patrol and an F-35 or two. You wanna come over here, can´t move for F-16s, all in nasty sand camo, not a grey one to be seen

Well done Piet for thinking of us "more mature" spotters with your "legacy" designations. If you youngsters with your PS4s and your SBSs (how on earth do your read-off c/ns and a/c names at 37,000´ for your radio reports???) prefer the "correct" names, that´s up to you - although I must admit SP is ...
