Why are they placing fences around their airbases? Are they troubled with the number of spotters or what? I confirm that Meiringen and Payerne will get a fence. Due to 11/9 and because the airforce fly more and more with armed jets (WEF, G-8....) the airforce will be more carefully. The problems ar...

It is correct. For the whole week the F/A-18s were based in Payerne AB, as a Swiss military told me. The reason, I suppose after I saw a "noise map" about Hornets take off, is that local people seems to hate the Hornet noise... I saw the map in Brienz. The Meiringen future won't be too pink... :cry...

Thw weather will be beautifull (blue sky and only few clouds). A problem could be the fog at the airbases.

@dolfo I recommend the homepage of SBB http://www.sbb.ch/ . You can see there the connections between Meiringen and Brienz. The taxis are rather expensive in Switzerland (about 2-3 CHF per kilometers). You should be at 6 o'clock on valley station at Axalp Dorf. It's not possible, to see the whole tr...

@dolfo

There is no way to use public transport from Meiringen. The shuttle-buses onyl drives from Brienz. If you want to see the whole training, you must go on 0600h ex valley station.

Meiringen is, like every swiss airbases closed during weekend.

The chair-lift was open every year.. :wink: But only from 0800-1400h and from 1600-1800h.

This year, you can expect no foreign aircrafts but Pc-21 Display
and Air-to Air Shooting with F-5/F-18.
