There is no official airbase for the F-18 departures during Axalp "Airshow". They could be come from Payerne or Meiringen but mostly from the alpine airbase. Some F-18 diverted to Sion due to weather or other reasons. The F-18 operates from all four jet airbases.

@damian Yes the flights ex Sion and Payerne should be everyday. The problem could be the high fog (not in Sion). You wont often see the sun outside the higher alps and valleys. I have seen them at Emmen before.

USN C-130 were regular visitors until the last tiger were delivered to the USA. Now we have maybe 2-3 Herkules per year.

I refer only to the swiss air force. I don't know when the Austrians will fly.

CAP with live armament on 22-25 January (training) and 26 January until 1 February. Do not expect any jet flight activities on Sunday.
