Re: Emmen (LSME) 19th July 2012

According my last information, there will be normal flight activities in Emmen next week but without the hornet squadrons. That means individual trainings and test/workflights are possible. http://www.luzernerzeitung.ch/nachrichten/zentralschweiz/luzern/Auf-dem-Militaerflugplatz-Emmen-kehrt-Ruhe-ein...

Re: Emmen (LSME) 19th July 2012

@goast Thank you for the great pictures. :) Unfortunately I have some bad news. The trail will be closed from September during the flight operation hours. The barriers will be replaced by gates. There will be an new trail along the fence. The other road will remain open. Next week I expect an ...

Re: Emmen, Switzerland 2012 MIL

Thanks for the LOG but there is already an Emmen 2012 thread. http://forum.scramble.nl/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=83059 The July 19 was the day with lowest flight activities in the last two weeks. "Only" 17 F-18 and F5 flew on this day. One day last week I counted 13 Hornets in the morning and 18 H...

Re: question about exercise at Payerne

The individual training of the F-5 pilots is no longer at Payerne AB (exception July or August). They have moved to Sion respectively Emmen. That's why you need a bit more luck to get some F5 in Payerne.

Re: WEF 2012

Grüezi Swissmember, Are you sure they fly from Sion? What about Payerne and Emmen? Grtz, Marcel Yes I'am. Payerne is the main alternate airbase for Sion and could host the jets if necessary. Meiringen is the second diversion airfield. Emmen is an alternate airfield as well but only during the week ...

Re: REQ: Switzerland @ 1 May

I am planning a trip to Switzerland and have a quick question. It seems that 1 May (Labour Day) is an official holiday in only a few Swiss cantons, however, not in the canton of Bern (Meiringen) and Obwalden (Alpnach). Can I expect (WK) business as usual on that day, or does one of you have firstha...

We will see.
They never flew on Sundays in the last years. If it is not absolutely necessary, they have to avoid noise (especially in Sion).

think you are in the wrong place for such off topic remarks / questions...so :ontopic: Has Suisse already considered and excluded option of a possible F-5X upgrade programme giving their fleet BVR capability, or are the airframes simply too old or too worn out for that? A Tiger upgrade for 30 machi...

Re: Air force live fire event Axalp 2011 - CANCELLED

I'm just back from the trainingday at Axalp. There they said (the announcer) that there will be no flying at Axalp at all, so also no target practice runs in the morning... However according some members of FF.de they will tomorrow from Meiringen! Probably not for the shooting exercises but for som...

Re: Emmen (LSME) - 2011 MIL

From 2-26 August 6 or 8 Hornets and 2-3 Tiger will be based at Emmen AB. And the Patrouille Suisse and some RUAG/Armasuisse jets will fly as well.

Marco wrote:sorry, maybe it is me, but what date? You mean in the week of 03 till 07 october?
Yes he mean that the 15 Hornets and 5 Tigers will fly the whole week (calendar week 40, 1-7 October). "Strabante" is the first bigger exercise since 1991 and all parts of airforce are involved.
