Yes, 521 is indeed 169146. Fixed above. I was pulling BUNOs off the RAW shots on my memory card, not even doing any editing, and made the typo putting it down on paper.

I was busy Wednesday but I spent several hours out there Thursday and Friday and never saw them, and never heard anything promising on the scanner. They WERE flying, because I have seen some pix of them shortly after take off. Are they still there? Who knows. Will try again Monday.

Of course, the USN took out a RF-4C with a missile back in 87, so it's happened on both sides.

I'd be happier if it had squadron colors on it, but it seems they are taking their time with that. Even as is, it is much nicer looking that the USMC Ospreys. They came in pretty late in the day, so the sun was really helping with this shot.

This was only the 2nd time in over 10 years I've caught somebody lifting off from Runway One One. The 747 wouldn't be able to make the turn to avoid Pt Loma if it had used Two Nine, so it made a downwind take off and took off towards the town.
