Re: spotting in Cuba

Forgot to mention the beautiful Lenin Park in Havana (23 02 06 43 N 82 21 45 20 W), a Mi-8, MiG-21, An-2 and An-26 can be found here.
For some reason most people forget to visit this place... and if you can check the c/ns of these aircraft!

Re: spotting in Cuba

Can confirm the DAAFAR museum in Havana has shut its doors late last year. All aircraft moved to San Antonio and are currently in storage over there. Not visible from outside, bereaving Cuba of its main aviation attraction. Also the base museum in San Antonio can not be visited nor seen from outside...

Re: Pictures of .... OV-10 Bronco

tomh, the four-blade props were installed by March Aviation, Mesa, AZ between 2002 and 2004; most Colombian Broncos were wfu by 2002, but the US initiated an upgrade program to keep them flying. Unofficially, Colombian pilots refer to them as OV-10M, as the aircraft have been stripped down and built...

Those Thais are great, like the colours! Here some recent Colombians in dull grey, but with four-blade props and flying, enjoy! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3484/3979651375_ce9a769fca_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2438/3980410122_c66bd52eef_b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3435/39804088...

There is no place like St Maarten...

even in the most horrible weather conditions Maho Beach is a great place to be. Some fine tropical downpours for most of the day today, arrivals were put on hold, but a few sunny gaps to enjoy with some great action. Added some sunset shots from the rest of the week... hope you will get a bit of the...

Re: REQ: militairy spotting Panama

Aviation Day is celebrated in Panama around the 25th of January. There have been air shows on or around this date at former Howard AFB, at least in 2009 and 2003. Usually not posted on the internet beforehand, but you will be able to find out with the civil aviation authority, this is their email: r...

Re: Italy-south 11-06-09 CL-215 extinguish a fire

Great action shots indeed!

as far as the designation goes: the CL-215-6B11 is the same model as the CL-415, its the manufacturer's designation for it.

Two hours at St Maarten

A short impression of a business trip to St.Maarten, allowing me to do my thing for just two hours, but it was well worth it. I spent about an hour on the roof (9th floor) of the Sonesta hotel, which is possibly the best spot after 03.00pm. You can ask the hotel manager for permission, but it is nev...
