LOG Scotland trip day 5 (11-9)

Hello all, After the success of yesterday we woke up early again to do a lot of "smaller" locations today, which needed a lot of driving again. We started the day by driving towards Greenock. James Watt College, Greenock (55º 56' 11" N, 4º 42' 12.5" W) XX690/A Bulldog T.1 GIA, Liverpool UAS mks Alth...

NEWS/REQ Belgian Agusta 109's

Hello all, From the BAHA website: five A.109's have been sold to Benin, four operational ones and a fifth for spares. H04 and H32 (the only operational one I still miss, isn't that typical....) arrived already in April, but have officially been handed over last month. The spares aircraft is H17, the...

If that's the side of the main entrance (where the static etcetera was) and the Mirage was polemounted you indeed misread it; that one is 498/3-EC (at least on the left side of it).

LOG Scotland trip day 4 (10-9) Saudies!!

Hello all, Monday morning, and tension was high! When we started planning our trip nothing was known yet about Saudies coming to Lossie, and when word came out it first looked like we would miss them by a few days as departure was said to be on Monday the 3rd. But as after a while it was said that t...

LOG Scotland trip day 3 (9-9)

Hello all, As this part of Scotland is rather poorly covered by Google Earth and Flash Earth placemarks are not given for all locations today and tomorrow. But where needed I'll give some directions! Even with the disappointment of yesterdays not found Lightning we had a good night sleep, but had to...

Did those Hornets ever show up?? And how about the ones coming Monday? There is a rumour there will again be 4 Hornets fuelstopping, but it has also been said that they will refuel air-to-air, and Leeuwarden is just a "back up".
Anybody who knows more?
Thanks!

LOG Scotland trip day 2 (8-9)

Hello all, Time for day two. I got some positive replies on the placemarks I included, so I will continue to do so. After a short night of sleep we drove to Addiston Mains again. We were very early, but this time the owner was present, looking like he was just getting ready for some running. The bad...

Have been told by two different people that the Magister at Strathallan actually still IS present. Grrrr! I'm told that it is in the first hangar, which only contains agricultrural stuff nowadays, apart from the stored (and dusty) Magister......
Well, one for next time then :?
