First Portuguese KC-390 handed over in Beja

Happened yesterday. After that the plane should have followed the prime minister to Lisbon, but alas, that didn't happen. The PM made it, the KC did not... not sure why not. Anyway, it is here, in Beja, not sure when it will start flying for real. https://emfa.pt/noticia-3912-kc390-a-caminho-de-port...

Re: News & thoughts on Putin's invasion of Ukraine

Some other results of the Putin's invasion. The railroads are starting to stop. Due to the unavailability of spare parts, 10.000 freight cars have already been taken out of service. 100.000 more might follow that before the end of the year. For a country that is huge and almost fully dependent on th...

Re: ALLIED RESOLVE 2022 + what followed

I didn't say the pilot did it intentionally, I said the jet did. So take the sarcasm for what it is worth. What I do know about the Russians, is that when they are about to get decisively defeated, they tend to pull back and implode, resulting in regime change. Has happened before, will happen again...

Re: ALLIED RESOLVE 2022 + what followed

That is true Erwin but still, the numbers are irrelevant. All depends on that very first weapon they would use. That very first one would make all the difference. And about the collapse; I am hearing this story for months now. Already in March the Russian army and Russia "was on the verge of c...

Re: ALLIED RESOLVE 2022 + what followed

But it won't, there will not be any nuclear weapon use in Ukraine. There is a clear strategic advantage to threatening with nuclear weapons, there is a clear strategic disadvantage to actually using them. It is like the energy war that he has been waging. Threatening to turn off the gas worked, blow...

This is the LZ-OOI (letters) not LZ-001 (numbers). You can check this in the Bulgarian register which is online: https://www.caa.bg/bg/category/300/17238 (line 96 in the current spreadsheet).

Re: ALLIED RESOLVE 2022 + what followed

The Russians planned something big. It didn't go well. A flight of four Ka-52 were shot down within 18 minutes. Ouch.

raameagle wrote: 08 Oct 2022, 23:14 Can you confirm that you actually read 'EC-341' from F10 please?
I can. Everything listed as read myself. I know some lists have the F10 as being EC-342, but it really had 341 painted on.

20 and 23 both seen 22 August outside. One of them doing an engine run, though I cannot remember which one it was.

Re: ALLIED RESOLVE 2022 + what followed

It is not a manned aircraft and other drones are not really reported here either, but... it is a rather interesting one. The Ukrainians managed to hack an Iranian combat drone and land it! No idea if this was a lucky attempt, or if this can be repeated. https://twitter.com/AndrewPerpetua/status/1576...

Interesting... I did not notice it before, but I had them with the same c/n as well indeed. A little digging through my Indonesian sources came up with the following assumptions . Not much of it is really sure and I am no H-34 or Indonesia expert so I am very eager to hear where I might go wrong in ...

Great analogy for the state of Russia. You are looking at it, you know what is going to happen, you think he will be smart enough... but no. He isn't.

Re: W&R Portugal

I have that Alouette as well like that, but I have my doubts about it. The first time I saw it was in 2002 in Alverca. And even though it was out of service from the KLu in 1996, it is listed in the FAA database as N155RA, deregistered in 2007. So in 2002 it was probably still active in the US. I th...
