At least some (most? all?) of the Raptors flew out to KNZY, where they are making me very happy.

Re: NAS North Island (KNZY) 2023

Was out of town last week, so I never saw their initial arrival. Yesterday they were all on the ground by 1030am, so they caught me by surprise. So when I heard the 'burner take offs between 8-830am this morning I immediately went to the beach, even though the sun would be really bad for recoveries....

Do please include H-60 tie ups if you can?

Regards

Mark
Can't-- no pix, therefore nn. Too much like work on the beach. Even at Ream trying to get numbers is a big pain. YMMV.

Marines stand up 2nd F-35C squadron at Miramar. VMFA-311 Tomcatters are the latest F-35C squadron, after VFA-125 (RAG), VFA-147, VMFA-314 and VFA-97. The Tomcatters dates back to WWII, and most recently flew Harriers. https://news.usni.org/2023/04/17/marines-stand-back-up-tomcats-as-a-f-35c-lighting...

HHmmm, looks like Bombardier DID object to the Letter of Request sent to the US. They say that their Global 6500 needs to be considered on an equal footing. However, the Canadian aircraft has absolutely no ASW capability. Guessing the P-8 is a fait accompli at this point.

You'd think Canada would at least ask Japan to make an offer around their Kawasaki P-1. There's also the Airbus A319MPA, although that is a less developed option.

If nothing else, it might make US/Boeing sweeten their eventual offer.
