Re: Share your best slide scans

Wow, Taiwan is a far of my bed show till (well who knows what the future brings), but very nice to look at some of their aircraft! My compliments Dino! Sweden on the otherhand, while looking at Hans' great (!) helicopter pictures, reminds me af my 1st and till this day only visit ever to that countr...

Re: Share your best slide scans

Nice!! The 92733 in your picture is the 90-0946/55 in mine. A lot more weathering after 6 years. I also got the other in grey which turned out to become the 50 for the NSAWC.

Re: Req. update on spotting at Hyakuri AB?

Thanks Hans!!

I appriciate it! It took me half a day to get it done with Flickr and so on, but I now get it. (a littlebit) Hopefully Robbert finds these "new" places (landing, pianobar), at least not in the Scramble guide, interesting enough.

Cheers,
Peter

Re: Share your best slide scans

I am scanning USN Vipers for someone and came across these. I shot them in 2003 when they were in service for only a few months. They were rapidly painted over, but we saw 8 grey c/s ones. Here are a few. Cheers, Peter http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2658/4112625774_7525c0350c_o.jpg http://farm3.stat...

Re: Req. update on spotting at Hyakuri AB?

Allright here is a first try, hope it works: In addition some extra pics of the take-off, opposite the tower. I prefer long lenses for nice angles, but this action on the left runway is so close, it is easy from, let's say, 200mm > to whatever you like. I thought I shot these with 300mm fixed on an ...

Re: Cuatro Vientos Museum del Aero

Mmmm, pretty sad that they keep exposing them outside to sunlight like this. All the original colors are fading/almost gone. So sad!! Such interresting planes. I saw some Phantoms in the pics above I saw in 1994 at the museum. They looked much better than!

Hi Hans,

Thanks (again!!, The "neat image" software works perfect) I will try tomorrow. Right now I'm watching Batman on SBS6 (lekker belangrijk, pretty important)

Re: Req. update on spotting at Hyakuri AB?

Yes!! That's what I meant. Great! One at the time instead of pairs is my preference though. I don't know how to post pictures on scramble, otherwise I would show some aswell. But this is a brilliant spot!

Re: Req. update on spotting at Hyakuri AB?

And don't forget opposite the tower for a load of action take-offs!! espescially when the're flying from the 03 side. Brilliant! Afternoon only that is. Personally I also like a landing place on a hill about 2cm right from the place 2 on the scramble chart. Not noted on the map. Beautiful landing pi...

Re: Req. update on spotting at Hyakuri AB?

Just go there and find out! You won't be dissapointed. The places in the airfield guide are still current. There are even more places, not pictured in the guide. Along the taxiway (at the 03 end, mornings) and close to the 03 pianobar (afternoons). From where they taxi toward and on the runway + a f...

Re: Matsushima & Utsonomiya

Again great pictures Dino! Especially the F-2 take-offs!! Wow!
The 73-8132 came into Gifu on wednesday (with 33-8123) for a full stop by the way.

Can't wait to see Hyakuri.

Re: Share your best slide scans

[quote]And about Neat Image, there is a stand alone version and a plug in available. Advantage of the latter is that you can use it in combination with a mask/correction layer technique to de-noise certain parts of the image. Very often, you will get patches of grass looking like pea soup or a van G...

Re: Share your best slide scans

I agree with you Hans, but to add some commend to your scans: I think you should take the time to clone (or whatever method you like) away the dustspots. Now it looks like it's not finished and hastely done. They deserve better treatment because they are very neat indeed! Peter Ps is "neat image" a ...

Re: Misawa airshow

Nice pictures! Personally I'm curious to see the OS and WP contributions to the show. Or maybe there are to be posted in the report on your site? Speaking of which; You left a small text error in the basename at "day 4" :-) Ah well, It's clear which base that is! Keep 'em coming, I love it! Cheers, ...
