Post by ruge75 »

Rare Jet Take Off from Grass Strip of a Soko G-2 Galeb ex Yugoslav Air Force during an airshow.
Soko G-2 Galeb (Seagull) is a Yugoslav single engine, two-seater jet trainer and light ground-attack aircraft developed during the 1950s by the Aeronautical Technical Institute at Žarkovo. Production started in 1965 at the Soko aircraft factory in Mostar, and ended in 1985 with 248 aircraft delivered and was the first mass-produced jet aircraft in socialist Yugoslavia.
Soko G-2 Galeb saw extensive combat use by the Yugoslav Air Force over Bosnia-Herzegovina during the Bosnian War to conduct strike missions. It was also used in the First Congo War and in the Lybian Civil War. YU-YAH is a privately owned warbird based in Italy.
