Buzzards over the Low Lands; Aviano Vipers at Frisian Flag Leeuwarden

One of the famous unites which was present at Frisian Flag 2022 at Leeuwarden, was the American 510th Fighter Squadron. The 510th Fighter Squadron (510FS) is part of the 31st Fighter Wing at Aviano Air Base, Italy. It is a combat-ready F-16CM Fighting Falcon squadron prepared to deploy and fly combat sorties as tasked by NATO and US combatant commanders. The unit came to Leeuwarden with twelve fighters. The 510FS fighters are recognizable by their purple tail bands. The nickname of the unit is “Buzzards” which is also mentioned in the tail band.
