North American P-51D Mustang Awesome Rolls Royce Merlin V12 Sound. North American Aviation P-51 Mustang is a single seat fighter and bomber used during World War II. North American P-51D Mustang was powered by the Packard V-1650-7, a license-built version of the two speed two stage supercharged Rolls Royce Merlin 66 V12 engine.
