118.480 is the Freq I heard him checking as RRR862, also on Brize Ops 268.600
He showed Squawk 7341 when departing Gilze.

But sure I am more than happy to know if he did use a 2 digit RRR c/s departing Gilze.. That would be a First (for me that is)

Sorry, my mistake, AK 41 is right, RRR 41 was its callsign during arrival, I see now that this a departure log.

Still, during the VC.10's arrival I was surprised about the two-digit callsign as well. Although it may have been RRR 0041 or RRR 041 lazily abbreviated into just '41'.

Stephan,
Didn't hear it myself during arrival, i've looked back the SBS logs, and it is showing as Tartan 41 on the 17th around 13.00, did it arrive around that time?

Could very well be Tartan 41, it was heard overhead UK June 17th as such (credit Andy Lewis)

Thanks for the input.

The VC.10 arrived at 1345LT. I clearly heard 'Ascot 41' being used by the crew, Rapcon West, Gilze Tower and Gilze Ground.
