LOG 20-03-2012:

We arrived quite early at this base and parked under the tree on the southside, spot 1 of AFG. Today, a northerly wind was expected. On the ATIS the left runway was announced out of operations, so single runway ops at Luke AFB. When we walked on the dirt road close to the fence to have a good spot for landing aircraft on 03R, the owner passed and asked us to leave. So we had to drive back along N Alsup Road to a spot where we could take decent pictures of landing aircraft. Eventually, the sun turned to the west and we drove to the end of N Alsup Road, next to the fence, to take better shots of all landing aircraft. 63 Vipers in one day, lying in the depths of your imagination (Crowded House)

The following Fighting Falcons were noted on a very slow and very hot (47 C!) day at Luke AFB. From 13:00, the same aircraft departed that had flown a mission in the morning. When we approached Phoenix in the evening of the 13th, at least 10 F16s were noted nightflying. This possibly contributed to our 'bad score':

90-0705/LF F16C 310FS
90-0754/LF F16C 310FS
90-0760/LF F16C 310FS

93-0722/LF F16A 21FS
93-0816/LF F16A 21FS
93-0828/LF F16B 21FS

Sorry guys, Bjorn asked me today if I was really sure about seeing 818 around... Photo evidence revealed her real identity as 816... :oops: :oops:

Hi Bennie,

Can you verify this one;
Bennie wrote:93-0818/LF F16A 21FS
it would be a new one for 21FS (last known as 6717 in Taiwan)

Damn, the 818, if thats's true I have at least one more to go. So far I have identified 16 different Taiwanese F-16's at Luke.
You were really unlucky as Luke has it's night flying weeks, they should be doing normal routines next week..

We were here yesterday and no pictures allowed outside base any more. We were far from the fence so take some landingshots but were sent away and were follewed till we really gone... Also Tucson is getting difficult from the outside. Bad luck or???

Where were you guys at? If you were parked at Northern Av.there's a no stopping sign, but I've been at Luke 2 weeks ago no issues..

No, not Northern Avn because stopping signs; near the traffic lights away from the airbase so that was not the reason.

Same here! I was there on August 14th and spent a few hours along N. Litchfield, just north of the crossing with Northern.
