Went to Jiangwan Tiyuchang Sport Park today (Nov.23) to try and find the 4 aircraft which were apparently last noted there on July 1990.
After a thorough check of the stadium and adjecent area and buildings, none of the aircraft were found.
It must be noted though that the area is under extensive reconstruction which might be the reason the aircraft were (temporarily?) removed.
None of the locals were able to give an update on this.

On my way back to the hotel ran into Mig 15 UTI "1905" located at the Original Gate of the Fudan University at the Handan Road in Shanghai.
This aircraft is not mentioned on any log so far so seems I have found myself a new entry ?

Nice listings!

A few corrections, according to the Scramble database:
31088 - Mig 15 UTI should be JJ5
30468 - Nanchang Q-5 should be 30458

? - DC-8 is ex JAL JA8048 that overshot the landing runway of Shanghai-Hongqiao in September 1982.

Too bad the Jiangwan a/c are gone. Maybe the military took them when they surrendered the neaby Jiangwan air base to urban development.

According to the listing I have on hand, 31088 should be a Mig 15 UTI but there was no sign with it that described the type. If I however compare this a/c with the 1905 as last noted, and which does have a sign stating that 1905 is a Mig 15 UTI, you could very well be right as there are some significant differences between these 2 aircraft

Q-5 30458 is indeed 30468, which I already changed in my posting. Took some second and third looks to see this as paintjob on the serial was rather weathered.

Thanks for the serial of the DC-8, there was no sign of it on the aircraft (or I overlooked it).

Shanghai, or China general, is a big place and the majority of the preserved aircraft are un-registered so far - for as far as we know - interest amongst the Chinese is far less than amongst us European (at least the public interest) and most aircraft are of small types, the kind you easily "hide" behind a tree or gate, just like the 1905.
Only advise I can give, now talking from my own experience, is keep your eyes open when driving anywhere in China, there could be a relic around the next corner...
