REQ> W&R St. Maarten (SXM) 10-01-2016

Post by SWAT 11 »

Hello all,

During a short stop at St. Maarten, on our flight to Curacao, we saw some wrecks lying in the grass nearly at the end of the runway.
At least five small aircrafts (one upsidedown) and a white R22 were standing/laying into the grass.

We can help me finding these registrations of these w&r's?

best regards,
Arno Cornelissen

Hi Arno,

Your white R22 is probably PJ-KSG, a R44, which is stored there. See http://www.airliners.net/photo/Netherla ... 2589065/L/

The others I don't know, but I am going there myself in April, so I will check it out.

I know these wfu aircraft. The details are as follows and are listed viewing from left to right from the runway. I have attached a link to a photo taken in February which shows the positions. I'm sure this will be of use to anyone else passing through SXM.

It's not the best of photos, taken from the otter at 1/80 sec as the sun was disappearing fast. It shows the layout though.

Excuse the bad formatting. I can find no way of using tabs or multiple spaces. I formatted the message to be neat then when I look at a preview it has ignored everything and only put single spaces. Any idea how to get around this ?

N30CL Ce 210E (c/n 21058695) white, red & black. rear fuselage broken off.

Thanks! Very informative indeed; this helps a lot of spotters travelling to that part of the world.

As of 2017, the Ce320 N5811L can now be found on a kind of mound near the Maho treshold of the runway in a "nose down" position.

It would be interesting to know where the inmates of that compound ended up after Irma.
