Hi,

Today ( 12-09-09 ) my little son called me " dad, there is a big plane comming from the south" i grap my cam and search for it and what is that flying there???.....

Yes it was an E-3 Sentry AWACS from the south to the north.
The time that i saw it was 11:17lt in Purmerend.

If anyone has a number for me i would appricate that.

I think your AWACS is French:
CFM56 engines (rules out NATO, US[?])
no wingtipmounted pods (rules out British)
no big titles under its wing (rules out Saudi, US, NATO)
big instrument fairings on front fuselage (rules out US, NATO)

So I think you've got the number of possible candidates narrowed down to four.

Hi all,

About the E-3 mentioned above.... think I can make somebody happy !! Think I can reduce it to one number !! :D :D

My SBS-1 system recorded a French E-3F indeed on the 12th and at the same time the aircraft was seen in Purmerend. Basestation logged the AWACS between 11:16 and 11:46. Callsign was FAF9050, the ICAO code of the aircraft was 3B77DD, and the 3B77DD is equal in the database as: 201/36-CA. :D Think this is an perfect example for the good use of the internet, helping each other out of the "problems"... Let's find out the next airplane registration...

You could make a better photo by killing some light ( the white is overexposed ), use a shorter shuttertime next time and you will have a much better shot

If anyone have some tips to make this kind of photos better please contact me via PM.( sharper etc etc.)
I have at the moment a Canon 300D rebel with a Voightlander 100/400mm 1: 4.5 - 6.7.
For your info: i don't use PS and i don't photograph in RAW.

Today's PIA to Manchester AP-BGJ ( SBS-1 shows it ) above Purmerend.
