Request Boscombe Down

Post by Trabanti »

Dear UK spotters, I'll be in the area of Boscombe Down in September and was wondering if Qinetiq/ETPS still use the 2 former 111Sqn F3's. Besides that, I am looking for regular logs, incl locals, to give an indication of daily activities. Pondering to drive to Brize directly or take the chance at Boscombe. I am more interested in quality than quantity which I guess is a pre-req for going there!

Many thanks for your responses!

Bart

The Tornado F3s are being used for Meteor missiles trials and at present they expect to cease flying in July this year.

You never know what you will see at Boscombe but you certainly get variety. If it is quiet then you can try your luck on Salisbury Plain.

I was looking through some old pics and I ran into BAC111s ZE432 and ZE433. These were interesting aircraft I think. I was just wondering what has happened to ZH763 because I read somewhere that it would probably not make it to the BAC111s 50th birthday in 2013. That would be a real shame.
Is it still operational at Boscombe Down?

regards, Per

BAF101 was Alpha Jet AT-08.
