Bremerhaven 2014 Mil

Post by Sonny1 »

We read on Flugzeugforum that a bunch of US Army choppers flew to Bremerhaven for shipment to the States. This evening we tried our luck and went to the harbor and found: 2 Lakota, 4 Chinooks and 20+ Apaches (did not count them yet on my pictures). The ro-ro-vessel (ARC Courage) was already in docks and should load the choppers tomorrow (Wednesday). If loaded, the helicopters are very well to photograph (100 meters). Best place is Franziusstrasse, N 53 34.044, E 8 33.941. Good luck.

I forgot to mention, the choppers are parked behind containers, and are visible from a nearby hill in the North, East side of the bay or when loaded.

I just found this video to give an impression (from Franziusstrasse).

Hi does anyone know if this is for a deployment, or does these helicopter go back to CONUS (without replacements in Europe)?

Erwin,
Everything was loaded yesterday morning. The last CH-47F went in before 10am.
