Yes that is correct. Tanagra AB, Greece. They share the perimeter and runway with the HAI complex. And that's where the USAFE Vipers go for part of their CCIP and Falcon Star (I *think* it is "Star", too many Viper upgrades and updates around nowadays  ) I'm sorry, I thought you knew... they already have like 10 SP & AV Vipers there?

Well Kostas,

91-0474 was delivered to Tanagra on Dec 12 with 91-0472 as pilot ferry, via Aviano, c/s was Jake 01-02

91-0481 followed on Jan 02 again with 91-0472 via Aviano c/s Jake 01-02

89-2046 delivered on Jan 03 with 89-2178 as pilot ferry, c/s Buzzard 51-52.

That's all I know. Don't believe much more AV are there cause all the 31st FW fleet was noted in the last couple of months.

Spang Vipers currently at Balad AB

Post by J.J. »

Anybody who noticed any swap of Spang Vipers from and to Balad AB, Iraq, during the last couple of days? Meanwhile, the 23rd EFS replaced the 22nd EFS at Balad AB, but I´m nearly sure that the 23rd EFS will use the same aircraft which already deployed with the 22nd EFS.

Still identified as deployed (by photos) are the following nine of twelve jets:
22nd FS: 90-0818, 91-0336, 91-0339, 91-0351, 91-0406
23rd FS: 91-0418, 91-0421, 92-3915, 96-0080 (marked 23 FS)

For more details and photos please visit some of the latest pages of my topic "Balad Air Base Deployment Update" on F-16.net: http://www.f-16.net/f-16_forum_viewtopic-t-4207.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hi,

Tomorrow between 0400 and 0600 (zulu) Deployed F-16s will either arrive or depart Spangdahlem. Base has special notam saying Spang is open for local a/c only. I would say they depart.... but that's just my guess..

Today, 2 new F-16s arrived at Spang for 52nd FW. Ex CC. They were Retro86/87. Two more to follow later this week.

According to latest news, there was really a swap of Spang Vipers at Balad AB, Iraq. On January 29, 2008, from a well-informed source I got the info: "I can tell you that 12 F-16s from Spangdahlem are heading for Balad today as Trend21 and Trend31". And at least according to a brand-new news article: http://www.spangdahlem.af.mil/news/stor ... =123085325" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; at least the main body of the 22nd EFS returned February 6, 2008, probably aboard a civil airliner. Anybody spotter at Spang who watched the departure of the 23rd EFS F-16 fighter package or the arrival of the 22nd EFS F-16 fighter package?

Hi,

Apperently only 6 F-16s made it back so far. The second sell is expected in the next few days (KC-10 is helping them, and is also expected at Spang).

Regards,
Oscar

Hi all,

Noted yesterday at Ssssspang was a C-17A with tail 97-0041.
At 18h40LT we saw a unknown a/c departing the base. Which one??
The 97-0041 left around 10h00LT, so it must be another plane.

Cheers,
