This commsfailure resulted in a small delay for the RN-delegation. Shortly after they could resume their trip to Manston.

Oscar, small correction:

First German Lynx was 83+21 ATA 08.14 LT

Second German Lynx was 83+05 ATA 10.48 LT and did 2 full stops before it went to the apron.

DEN HELDER -
De Lange Jaap is sinds mensenheugenis (1878 om precies te zijn) een lichtbaken voor de scheepvaart. Voor de felrode vuurtoren in Huisduinen is binnenkort mogelijk nog een rol weggelegd: als waker van de veiligheid op zee voor offshorehelikoptervliegers. De club die toestellen op commerciële lijnvluchten boven Nederland van vluchtinformatie voorziet, is na een verzoek van Nogepa (landelijke brancheorganisatie van oliemaatschappijen) aan Rijkswaterstaat bezig een nieuw radiocommunicatie- en radarnetwerk op touw te zetten.
Dit om de veiligheid in het zogenoemde lagere luchtruim (van zeeniveau tot 5500 voet oftewel zo'n 1800 meter) voor offshorevliegverkeer boven de Noordzee te verbeteren. Nogepa steekt vier miljoen euro in dat project.

Little chance, I think, as in the not all too far past, things like these were to be taken down from the lighthouse, due to its monumental status. The local council might not aprove getting antennas etc. up again.

The NCG03 was the PH-CGN. Due to the radioproblems it went to EHTX for 9 touch and go's, 1 full stop and lunch! We like the radioproblems very much... :lol: We prefer it at least once a week... :lol:
