Cougar exhausts

Post by mart »

I have been noticing that the dutch cougars seem te have quite an amount of different exhaust installations and forms.
Can anybody explain the function of these differences to me?
for example.

I know, the last one is a bit harder to see, but you can clearly see there is an installation on top of the exhaust.
In the last case I'm guessing it's proborably to keep the dust and sand out.

does anyone know the function of these differences?

On the first picture you see the normal exhaust. On the third picture you see a Jet Dilution Device which cools the fumes and diverts them towards the main rotor blades. On the second picture you see a reno exhaust, which is more easy is to replace with a j.d.d. It takes a lot of time to replace the normal exhaust with the j.d.d. I hope it is now clear for you.
