Yeah right. Just like the Spanish F-1's, Brazil built Gripens and Israeli Kfirs. At least they have a lot of options. All they need is money...

Yep, Tattle Lounge indeed... It was just "too fanciful"...

http://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/argentin ... -aircraft/
As reported by Argentine news organisation, LaNacion, Argentine Minister Agustin Rossi has denied that Argentina is in negotiations with Russia over new aircraft.

Following the announcement of the purchase of four Russian polar tugs with capacity of US $ 8.6 million, the defense minister, Agustín Rossi stated his position, below is a translated version of his statement:

“Yesterday I saw with surprise that the British press claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin offered Argentina
jets in exchange for meat, wheat and other foods,
as an alternative way to deal with sanctions from the European Union for the controversial annexation of Crimea to Russia.”

When news began circulate on British and Argentine news sites, Rossi sent his spokeswoman to deny any new deal with Russia stressing that the deals reached did not include leasing or purchase of aircraft.

Despite widespread reporting of this issue with outlets basing their articles on a recent Express article,
the original source for this article appears to be rumour on an Argentine tabloids opinion section.
