After the KLM swan: the KLM beagle

Post by ehusmann »

I have to admit, I normally couldn't care less about commercials. Be it on tv, in newspapers, on the street or on the web. However, every so many years one comes by that is actually funny, like this KLM beagle.

Probably one of the best ways to serve the passengers. Brilliant example of KLM Marketing, well done.

Just before pushback of my flight from Bangkok to Amsterdam last week, the hostess went around the cabin with a....wedding ring!
Me and my neighbour both agreed that a wedding ring cannot just slip from ones finger and therefore it must have fallen out of someones pocket, e.g. while putting a jacket in the overhead locker.
But why would you want to put your wedding ring in your pocket when visiting Bangkok.... . Nobody dared to raise his finger when the hostess held up the ring, so I hope the Beagle found the rightful owner!

By the way, the Beagle was fake. Well, The dog in the ad was real of course, but KLM is not really using this (or any) dog to find owners of lost and found goodies.
Just a matter of marketing...

To prevent the security check to go making music due to finding some metal.

I'm a frequent flyer but nobody ever asked me to take of my wedding ring. I don't think it ever made the alarm go off, and I doubt if it shows on the bodyscan screen.

I've seen it happening at a number of airports, incl EHAM.
