C295 delivery to Egyptian AF? (new title)

Post by Andyc »

Greetings all,

on 27/7 I noticed what appeared to be a UAE C27 inbound to Heraklion. I couldn't get from the swimming pool to my telescope in time to read it off.

Would anyone have any details of the initial order or serial numbers? (Assuming I got the country right...)

many thanks

Thanks to Raameagle we have an ID.

EC-003, a C-295 being delivered to Egypt. The next question is (apart from why do I go swimming when there's aircraft about), can anyone tie this up to a c/n or Egyptian serial number?

At Luqa (Malta) on 24 July 2013 were the following C295Ms seen, both devoid of any markings and paint:
EC-004

and EC-001

Also destined for Egypt?

In November 2012 this aircraft was seen at Sevilla-San Pablo fully painted.

I don't think EC-001 or EC-004 are destined for Egypt as they both overflew Egypt after leaving Luqa and landed in Medina, Saudi Arabia. I have no idea where they went after that.

It is possible that they went to Indonesia, since they still have quite some C-295s on order.
Cheers,
