Eurocopter is to give Australia one extra NH-90 for free....

Post by Stratofreighter »

European Aeronautic, Defence & Space Co.’S Eurocopter (EAD) unit, the world’s largest helicopter maker, will provide Australia with an extra NH90 model after the program fell three years behind plan.

Australian Aerospace, Eurocopter’s local arm, will deliver a 47th MRH90 multi-role version for free, the country’s defense ministry said in a statement today, adding that the agreement will help put the program “back on a positive footing.”

We are allmost 6 years behind scheduled delivery/ operational status, so makes me wonder what is in it for us? 2 NH90's for free or will our politicians live up to our expectations and settle for a lollypop and a brand new teddy bear. :nl:

Because we (Stork/Fokker) are involved in the development, we probably only suffer the consequences, but not the benefits.. Otherwise we could build a whole new Air Force for free with NH90s, F-35s, modified DC-10s, etc..

Haha, i agree with you but i have learnt to only get involved in projects that give you benefits. So that was most likely the lesson that kept me from trades and politics.

When we joined, we were convinced these programs should benefit us a lot in a lot of different things. Only after we joined decades ago, we screwed it up big.
