Which translates into English ( ) as something like "the documentary shown today on Dutch National Television doesn't promise much objectivity". The press release from the MoD seems to back this up: The list given there of people cooperating in the documentary are almost all known as being very pro-JSF.

The first two Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning IIs assigned to the 388th Fighter Wing were officially delivered to the base today. The two F-35A Conventional Takeoff and Landing variants, known as AF-77 and AF-78, are the first of 72 F-35As scheduled for delivery to the base.

Up to now, Bureau Numbers of F-35s always had the B-version first and the C-version second. We have seen F-35B 169164 and F-35C 169160 flying now which seems to suggest a reverse numbering. Since the B-models numbers 6 airframes and the C-model numbers 4 airframes in Lot VII, the sequence could be as follows: F-35C ranging from 169160 till 169163 and F-35B ranging from 169164 till 169169. Can anyone confirm this sequence?

Greets,
Not confirmed but very likely if you saw F-35C 169160.
Which markings did it wear?

The roll out of the first Norwegian AF F-35A revealed the serial sequence of the foreign F-35As in LRIP-7 (3x Italian AF and 2x Norwegian AF).

It should be:

13-5084 AL-4
13-5085 AL-5
13-5086 AL-6
13-5087 AM-1 serial 5087
13-5088 AM-2 serial 5088

Tend to agree with coati:

19x consecutive USAF F-35A (AF-71 - AF-89) in LRIP7 followed by 5 international:
13-5084 AL-4
13-5085 AL-5
13-5086 AL-6
13-5087 AM-1 5087 Norway - confirmed
13-5088 AM-2 5088 Norway

Next LRIP8 19x F-35A ordered in FY14

Best guestimate!

Talking about FMS serials, does anyone ever read something about FMS of the F-35Bs?
When looking at our database, the 3 UK F-35Bs (LRIP 3) could be 168315 (BK-1) and 168316 (BK-2) and LRIP 4 168716 (BK-3) but this is only speculation.

Anyone a confirmation on this theory?

Cheers,

I have noted this

LRIP-3 BK-1 ZM135 168315
LRIP-3 BK-2 ZM136 168316
LRIP-4 BK-3 ZM137 168737
LRIP-7 BK-4 ZM138 169170?

Last one is guestimate, rest from different sources.

However, in the scramble DB 168737 is listed as an UAV...
