First two UH-60A+ for Afghanistan

Post by sdamico »

First two (79-23308 and 82-23687) of a planned 159 surplus US Army UH-60A+ arrived in Afghanistan aboard C-17 on 18 September. They are to replace Mi-17. Six are expected to be in use by end of '18. An 'A+' is an 'A' with 'L' engines for hot and high conditions in Afghanistan. Helos were previously stored/test flown at Huntsville under BEST program (see pilotman's recent posts).
