I don't get it, they replace the M2000 by an updated F5? :?: :?:
Is the Tiger more advanced then the M2000?

Well, the reason is not that the F-5EM is better then the Mirage 2000, the thing is that when the Brazilians bought those Mirage 2000s from France they had only a lifetime left in hours for aprox 8 years! The Mirages were not up-graded or received any new equipment when sold to Brazil. It was scheduled to have them at least till 2014 in the air, unless they had a long term overhaul or MLU. As they did not wish to have them longer in service, the FAB flew them till the last remaining hour. The problem is, it was anticipated that by the time they reached that moment, the new FX was already in service, which is still not the case :oops:
