Oh, don't get me wrong, in hindsight their decision-making was rather less than optimal (and that's putting it lightly).

But hindsight is always 20/20, and it's just that people seem to want to point the finger/give someone the blame/rush to judgement. So seeing as the two people being accused are dead (which I'm certain wasn't their plan), I feel the need to defend them against those sort of accusations.

All of the many factors that played a part in this crash will come out in the final report, and as always the goal is to learn from these factors to try and prevent them from playing a part in any future accidents.
