Every month the runway lights and approach lights are tested to ensure everything is still ok. Next to that, the airclub is still operating out of Twenthe (ok, their landing weight is slightly less than that of a B747).
When work was done to reopen Twenthe as a commercial airport, new approach procedures etc were already established.
The old tower cannot be used anymore. It is now private property which is no longer part of the airfield, so arrangements need to be made for that.
