St. Dizier (LFSI) - 2007

Post by USAFE »

Problems with authorities?

Hi forum,

we are planning a trip to St. Dizier tomorrow.
Are there any things we should know?
Especially with the police / MP?

Is spotting in France allowed?
We stay away from the fence and we do not take pictures of inside the base...

Thanks,
USAFE

Been there in October and didn't had any trouble.
We stood on the soccerfield westside landing. Alot locals in the afternoon and also the Police came to look but only said Hi and that was it.

On 6 August we saw a Gazelle coded ABD inbound the airfield. Anyone for its tie-up?

Logged on 7 August were the following locals:
E116/7-PW Alpha Jet E
E168/7-PP Alpha Jet E
E35/7-PX Alpha Jet E
E97/7-PY Alpha Jet E

All Alpha Jets flew multiple sorties. From a French local spotter we heard the Rafales moved to Luxeuil the day before, because Saint Dizier will be closed for 2 months (from 8 Aug)! Only two Rafales were seen departing early morning, they did not come back.
