Herky432

Post by Eric van Lisdonk »

Hi Maurizio,

I can only help you with your Herky432. And that was C-130H 94-6708 from 130AW/WV ANG.

Cheers,
Eric

On this sunny day I arrived here at the west side, spot 1, at around nine o'clock. There was no need to question any activities this day as the first Falcons landed already. I walked to spot 1 but for the nice shots with the mountaineous background I had to position myself in the open field. A green car stopped very soon, made some turns, stopped again while the driver was frantically calling. Time to move to spot 2 where I met some fellow spotters from Italy. Here you have a good view onto the runway and final while being away from the base and a bit obscured to the public road. The F-16s performed on many missions, each took about an hour, but also many touch and goes and simulated flame-outs were made. A Citation and a Herc were some nice visitors. Special visitor was the Russian Air Force Tu154 which was on a Open Skies Mission and made a fly-over at around 3 km height.
At two oçlock all flying was stopped so time to move on.
Many thanks to Claudio, Maurizio and Paolo for their hospitality.

greetings

Hi Piet,

nice to see your pictures.

Two add/corrections:
The UC-35 c/s was "Duke 09" not "Jalop 11"
The Tu 154 c/s was "OpenSky 334"

and believe the 88-0526 is a 555th FS viper, will chek next week.

Ciao

Maurizio

Hi Maurizio,

Callsigns have been updated, thanks for the update.

The 88- 0526 was parked left of the runway on the west side between two shelters.
