REQ: Norway , March 2024

Post by Kev Nutt »

Can anyone help with the identities of the below aircraft seen on my recent cruise around Norway:

04/03/2024, Alesund. The 2 F-35's that overflew at low level at approximately 1:30 pm local time
08/03/2024 , Alta. The Bell 412 that operated out of here today. This returned at approximately 2:37pm local time
09/03/2024 , Alta. The Bell 412 that operated out of here today and the Netherlands NH90-NFH that made a brief visit
10/03/2024. A real long shot, The French Navy Atlantique operating over the Norwegian sea this afternoon. Also 3 fast jets that were also operating over the Norwegian sea between 7pm & 8pm. ***
11/03/2024, Bodo. The Bell 412 that overflew at low level today.

***The Atlantique & the fast jets were seen during the journey from Alta to Bodo and as I was on the upper deck & therefore had no access to the internet, i can not provide any locations.

Many Thanks
Kevin

The only Bell in the publicity photos was 147, I doubt that's definitive.
16 confirmed for the Atlantique (unless there was another one)
I think your NH90 could be Swedish (light grey?) numbers 46 & 48 were involved.

I have just looked online at photos of Dutch and Swedish NH90 's and compared them.i have concluded that I definitely saw a dutch NH90 as the swedish ones don't have a radar underneath the forward fuselage and I saw the dutch markings through binoculars at the time. I should have taken photos of the NH90 & the Bell 412's but did not have the camera handly.

Thanks for your help Starman.

Apparently 2 NH90-NFH's were operating from the Dutch ships during the exercise.

I would really appreciate it, if anyone can help with the serials of the F-35's and the helicopters mentioned in my original post.

These are the ones I would really like to tie up.

Many thanks Kevin
