Zagreb 02/03-10-2013 (LDZA) MIL

Post by Whitecat »

Last week I went to Zagreb to hopefully see some Croatian Fishbeds. And I was quite lucky. On Wednesday 115 did 4 flights during the day. That day I also saw a Mi-171Sh doing several passes over the airport, an AT-802F and a CL-600-2B16. On Thursday 115 did again 4 flights and in the afternoon the QRA came out as well.

Well done indeed!
I presume they were taken from outside the base? Any hassle with security? I am thinking of trying my luck there as well someday soon....

About flying activityat Pula I can't answer.

Zagreb was a lucky shot and I saw more then I hoped to see.

The 2nd taxi shot and the landing shots with blue skies were taken from outside the base. No problem with security but, like at many bases, it's better to keep a low profil as much as possible.
All the rest were taken from the viewing terrace of the airport. This has has a nice view with comfortable seats. The only problem are the airlines in front of you.
Keep in mind that almost all the MiG's are at Ukraine for there upgrade. Apparently only three are still at Zagreb. I don't know when they'll be back.

Hi,

Pula is abandoned by the military. So unfortunately no more MiGs overthere (also no training detachments).

Greetings, Paul
